What Does it mean by Fire Rated Uniforms?

Fire-rated uniforms are composed of strong fibers that are resistant to fire. Such fibers include meta- and para-aramids, polybenzimidazole, modacrylic, etc. Other examples include fiber-like aramids (extracted from a polymer known as poly-para phenylene terephthalate), Polyester, and Nylon Coatings; Nomex, PBI, and Modacrylic (Vinyl chloride, and acrylonitrile are two of the chemical monomers) are used in the manufacturing of fire-rated uniforms. These fibers are inherently fire-resistant; if they catch fire somehow, they burn very slowly and undergo self-extinguish to limit loss. What Is the Rating for Flame-Rated Clothes?

The main goal of flame-resistant uniforms is to refuse to ignite. The European standard is a flame impingement test, which is a lower threshold of resistance to ignite, but in the case of the United States, the ASTM D-6413 test, commonly known as the Vertical Flame Test, is performed to check the quality.

A garment must withstand ignition and/or rapidly self-extinguish flames to protect the user from being flame-resistant. A fire-rated uniform will catch fire if it comes into contact with fire since it is not fireproof.
